Chelsea have completed the signing of the 25-year-old Zappacosta from Torino in the late night of the Transfer window.
Former Torino’s man has signed a four-year contract adding up in line as Chelsea’s fifth signing of a difficult summer transfer window.
The deal was done shortly after the transfer window closed on Thursday night, as he was announce few minutes after the transfer window closed.
Zappacosta said after deal done: “It is a dream for me to join Chelsea and play in the Premier League
I am very excited to be here and start working with the team. I hope I can show my quality to the coach, my teammates and the supporters.”
The Premier League champions moved quickly to secure Zappacosta, who received his first international call-up during Antonio Conte’s spell as Italy coach, after Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain rejected the chance to move to Stamford Bridge in favour of joining Liverpool.
Technical director Michael Emenalo said: “Davide is a player of international calibre who Antonio Conte knows well and we have been aware of for some time. We are very pleased to be able to bring him to the club and believe he will become an important member of the squad.”
