Kidnap kingpin, 63, arrested with 28 stolen cars, AK 47 rifles in Niger

According to a NEWSROOM correspondent,A 63-year-old suspected kidnap kingpin, Maitarari Isa Saidu has been arrested by police in Niger State.
Saidu is said to have masterminded several kidnap activities across the state and neighbouring Zamfara, Kaduna and Yobe.
The father of 29 children and husband to 3 wives confessed that he collected N300m and N170m respectively from his last two operations before concentrating on the business of receiving stolen vehicles.
28 stolen cars were recovered from his depots in Niger and Abuja.
Saidu was paraded by the police in Minna on Wednesday alongside 48 others – including two of his children.
He told newsmen: “The business of kidnapping become to risky for me that was the reason for switching to receiving stolen cars and I have been in this for some years.”
He was said to have gotten into trouble when his boys received and paid N400,000 for a car which he quickly took to sell at the cost of N800,000 in Kano.
State police spokesperson, Jimoh Moshood said five AK 47 rifles were recovered from Saidu and his men. He said the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations were completed.
