Sergeant Chukwudi Iboko has been identified as the brave policeman who faced the four-man robbery gang who attacked Zenith Bank in Owerri.
The sergeant was able to gun down one of the robbers before the rest escaped and was later captured.
Sadly, the sergeant died in April after being in intensive care for two months. Recall the robbery took place in February.
Confirming his death, Andrew Enwerem, spokesman for the Imo state Police Command said Iboko and two other policemen were present during the shoot out with the robbers. He stated that Iboko died but the other officers are survived.
“They were in intensive care for up to two months. The two survived but Iboko died. He was a sergeant and mobile policeman”
