2018 NBA Elections: Let Us Accept The Results And Rebuild—NBA Ikorodu Chair, Bayo Akinlade Esq.

It is usually hard to accept defeat but when it comes to NBA, my stance is that it is not POLITICS, no one gets a salary for it so why do we FIGHT so much and why do we insult each other to the extent that we cannot relate to ONEANOTHER anymore after elections.
The results of this highly controversial elections have come out. There are still alot of questions in the minds of lawyers, it is worrisome that a processes that ought to be seemingly easy had been complicated by our nature to be corrupt.
Will some go to court to challenge it? Probably, Mazi Afam Osigwe has taken such steps already and rightly so BUT I believe strongly that ALL CANDIDATES, especially those that feel cheated should consider what members went through in this electioneering process before they choose to litigate.
Many relationships were broken because of this elections.
Much time was wasted, money and skills.
What we need is AN NBA THAT DOES NOT FRUSTRATE ITS MEMBERS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE FEW
What we need is for ALL OF US TO SEE OURSELVES AS LEADERS WITHIN OUR OWN INDIVIDUAL BRANCHES AND MOVE FORWARD.
Nothing stops those that contested but didn’t get voted in to seek to implement their respective manifestos within their local branches or sell the idea to the national body just like I did with FIACIJ
I Congratulate all the contestants, I am amazed by their commitment to travel around the nation, speaking individually to members, spending an immense amount of funds and RISKING their lives just to get our support.
Let us not let them down…. Members should support this new leadership, not just by patting them at the back when they do it right But by also making them account when they get it wrong….. I expect nothing less from my branch members as well.
NBA is for all of us, let us play our part as members and our leaders will find it easier to lead.
