The superstar also says that he doesn’t know when ‘Made In Lagos’ will drop.
On June 3, 2020, Nigerian superstar, Wizkid took to his Twitter to explain why it will take more than activist music like Fela made to revive and help Nigeria. This came after a fan made a suggestion to Wizkid on Twitter.
The fan wrote, “@wizkidayo I’d be so excited if you can just drop a song highlighting some of the critical issues going on in this country. I trust and believe it will go a long way. God bless you king, massive respect for you.”
Wizkid then reasonably replied that, “Fela made songs before I was born about the issues of bad leadership and governance and even to this present administration!! my brudda nothing has changed. We gats do more.”
While some people might think it was a dig at Fela, it was not. This was Wizkid’s way of saying that despite Fela’s best efforts, Nigeria is still the same more than 20 years after his death.
When a fan also asked Wizkid when his highly anticipated album, Made In Lagos will drop, he replied that, “[To be honest, I don’t know].”
