Home News CPC ordered Dana Air to compensate passengers aboard affected plane
Following Dana Airline’s accident that endangered over 44 lives, the Consumer Protection Council, CPC has directed management of the airline to support affected passengers.
It would be recalled that yesterday, February 20, an aircraft with registration numbers 9J0363, flying from Abuja to Port Harcourt airport overshot the Port Harcourt runway.
However, there was no casualty as all passengers on board were safely evacuated.
In a statement made available to newsmen, Director-General of the council, Babatunde Irukera made known that he had contacted Dana Air’s management and had come to an understanding that the Airline would provide support and accommodation to the affected passengers.
According to the CPC boss, the directive was in compliance with minimum standards in accordance with prevailing Regulations under Part 19, Nigerian Civil Aviation Rules (NCAR).
Irukera commended airport officials for their prompt response to manage the mishap and safe evacuation of what could otherwise have been a tragic event.
