Lawan backs Buhari for withholding assent on 2018 Electoral Act

Senate Leader Dr. Ahmed Lawan has said President Muhammadu Buhari acted within his power and the provisions of the law for refusing to sign the 2018 Electoral Act into law.
Lawan, who fielded questions from reporters after the Yobe State All Progressives Congress (APC) Critical Stakeholders meeting at the Government House, Damaturu, said technology must not be applied for election.
The senator, while blaming the National Assembly for sending an unfinished document to the President and expected him to sign, noted that Buhari was the only president in the history of Nigeria, who had signed the highest number of bills into law since his assumption of office.
